The significance of this RARE poster cannot be understated! Unlike the few others that have shown up with the fight date stamped over the original scheduled date which was September 24 , this 14 X 18.5 closed circuit poster for the big screen LIVE broadcast at Monticello Raceway in New York, ONLY SHOWS THE CORRECT FIGHT DATE! This means that this poster was printed over the shorter time period during the delay caused by a cut that had developed over Foreman's eye which required the fights resceduling from September to October. Of the few posters that I have seen, all have been those printed over a longer period of time, printed for the incorrect date and corrected with an overstamped date. Even the Christies auction of the famous Palinger Ali collection some years back only had the incorrectly dated closed circuit poster for this fight.. Some of these posters have been printer remains and never used for this fight whatsoever as the fight did not take place on this date. The poster offered here was actually made for the fight that took place and was actually used to promote it!! Poster is printed on cardboard, great color and design graphics. Minimal light stains and creasing. The most desireable poster for this most significant fight that I have seen. (Other than Zaire site poster that sells for 10-15 thousand dollars)
