Leonard Paulding - (1826-1867) entered the Navy as Midshipman (1840), rose to rank of Lieutenant-Commander by 1862, commanded the 'Galena' through the war and died aboard the 'Wateree'. ALS, June 6th, 1863 to Paymaster T. Henry Sellman, as a letter of praise and recommendation for Sellman's duties performed aboard the 'Galena'. one page, 2 folds, excellent condition war-date letter

Here is a one page handwritten signed letter from 1862 in part; "The General directs that all the clothing drawn by you for Major Remington's Cavalry shall be turned over to me...." To a Captain MacArthur from James Rusling.

1863 Civil War ALS signed by George Gould

After Selling many civil war letters to a Captain MacArthur who was obviously neglecting his duties in the war by not properly filling out documents, submitting them late, Not picking up supplies etc. Here is a letter from George Gould placing Captain MacArthur under arrest. Interesting.

James Rusling- ALS to Amry of the Potomac 1862

Here is a two page adjoined letter written on both sides of the first page, one side of the second by James Rusling regarding instructions sent to Colonel Godfrey in the Army of the Potomac. Signed by Rusling at the conclusion. Edgewear, otherwise nice.
